Oh snap! The day has come for us to join up and walk around!
We’ll be starting around 4 p.m. at the Chalmers Jewlers parking lot in Middleton.
Looks like it’ll be a hot one, but not as hot as earlier in the week so make sure to STAY HYDRATED and see ya on the other side of the city!

The t-shirts have been designed and are ready to be ordered! Orders will be closing Monday June 18th so that we can get free shipping from CustomInk so make sure you get yours in if you are going to be wanting a t-shirt.

CustomInk doesn’t collect individual payments for group orders which means that we will have to cover the cost up front, and collect monies after. They also only ship the entire quantity to one address. Unfortunately this means that if you aren’t planning on attending WAM2012, it might be a little difficult to get the shirt that you ordered. This doesn’t mean that you can’t get the shirt if you aren’t walking, but you should join us on the walk if you are gonna wear the shirt right?

If you do order but aren’t walking, make sure you add that in a comment when you are setting up your order so that we know not to worry about extra orders or anything like that.

After surprisingly little debate among prior WAMsters, JULY 7 has been chosen as this year’s Walk Across Madison. Check your calendars, book your flights, break in those tennies, and get to Madison people. This fourth annual event promises to be WAMtastic!

Spread the word to anyone who enjoys walking and/or drinking (preferably both).

Hello fellow WAMers, WAMies, WAMists, WAMheads, WAMsters, WAMericans, WAMen, WAMsketeers and WAMinators!

With summer approaching, talks and thoughts of this year’s WAM have started. Dave and Brian are already hard at work on shirt designs and I wanted to get the ball rolling for picking a date. First one on the table - July 7th. If that won’t work, send another option.

Once we have a firm date we can let others know and expand our ranks.

Looking forward to another awesome jaunt with you all!

There are many ways to participate, but the best way is to come along on the hike! If you want to be updated on when the Walk but don’t really want to keep checking the website add your email to the newsletter. I promise not to spam, the newsletter is just for important updates like what day WAM! is happening.

Help pick the month that we walk by voting.

If you aren’t able to make it, I think I have things set up so that any of the Flickr Group photos will also get posted here at WAM! too.

Anything posted here should also get a tweet by @WAMadison, so if you like twitter there’s that.

I’ve even set up a SMS group using that anyone can join by texting “#walkacrossmadison” without the quotes, to 23559 with your phone.

When Should We Walk?

The more people that want to participate in WAMing, the harder it is to find a day that works for everybody. Once we figure out what month to have it in, then we can narrow down a Friday or Saturday to go for the walk. Feel free to vote for multiple months if you like! Poll closes on May 20, 2012.

Welcome to the website for our yearly event: Walk Across Madison!

As usual, I’ve got big plans for this site that will probably go unachieved. I’ve got a flickr group all made and ready to go with some photos from past WAM already in there. I may have invited some of you to add some of your pictures too! I forgot the password for the email address I had set up, but once I get an email account up and running I’m hoping to get some automation working too. That way when you add a photo to the flickr group, it’ll get posted here too. Also planning on setting up a twitter account and maybe even use that in conjunction with a sweet group texting thingy called celly so that people who might see us on the street can get live updates or someshit.

As far as I know there is no set date for 2012, but I’m getting anxious because it’s always fun!
